An Ink & Cocoa story is a short, beautifully written interactive tale in which your recipient is the protagonist. Their name appears throughout the story, placing them at the center of the adventure. At key moments, they make choices that reveal clues and shape what they discover next. It is a complete story to settle into, about half an hour from first page to last, and it is unlike anything they have received before.

When you place your order, you tell us exactly how you would like their name to appear. Whatever you enter is precisely how it will read throughout the story. So if you type "Bonnie," the story will read "Bonnie" every time. If you type "Grandma," it will say "Grandma." It is that simple, and it makes all the difference.

We currently offer six genres: Cozy Mysteries, Romantic Escapes, Thrilling Escapes, Historical Adventures, Grand Adventures, and Heartwarming Tales. More are on the way. You can browse all of them, with descriptions, on our genre selection page.

That is up to you. When you order, you choose who it goes to. You can have us send the story straight to your recipient as a private link and QR code, or send it to you instead, so you can share it yourself, print the QR code for a card, or give it in person. Either way, you also choose when it arrives: right away, or on a future date you pick. However it is sent, the story reaches its reader as a private link and a QR code, both opening the same tale.

As quickly or as far ahead as you like. If you choose to send it right away, the story is prepared and delivered within minutes, usually faster, which makes it a wonderful last-minute gift. If you would rather give it on a particular day, you can schedule it up to a year ahead, and it will arrive right on time. Whether you are ordering at the last moment or planning well in advance, it arrives exactly when you want it to.

If you would like, we can send it straight to your recipient for you, so there is nothing for you to do. Or you can have it sent to you and share it however feels right. Text them the link. Email it with a personal note. Print the QR code and tuck it into a card. Show them on your phone. The story works on any device, in any browser, with no app or account required on their end.

Absolutely. Each story is its own order, placed one at a time. You can send a story to as many people as you like, or send a different genre to the same person on a different occasion. There is no limit.

Yes, completely. All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment platforms. We never see or store your card details. Your transaction is fully encrypted from start to finish.

Because each story is personalized and delivered digitally at the time of purchase, we are generally unable to offer refunds once delivery has occurred.
